If you don’t typically review the line items in your AT&T Wireless statement you might wind up paying for 2 new services that might just magically appear. At least that’s how this went down for me. I signed a new contract back in January and seeing how I already have AAA and roadside assistance from each of the Automobile manufacturers for the cars I own I’m fairly certain that I’d have to be out of my tree to load up on yet more roadside assistance.
I’m sure glad AT&T had my back though, they… in my best interest slapped the following services onto my service plan for 2 phones.
Why would anyone want to pay $4.99 for voicedial? Oh and coworker of mine informs me that you have to call into the server and set up your voice contacts, this does not operate on your handset based contacts.
Apparently, these charges escaped me for a few statement cycles but I caught them this evening while doing some bill paying and so I contacted AT&T and told em I wanted my money back which they gladly did.
Call or log into your Account to have these services removed and your account credited if you didn’t order these services. Let me know in the comments if you got zinged on your statement.

If I can get the messages through the Cingular/AT&T network I should have this turned on today.
Quick SMS is the plugin you want if you’re running wordpress. This will allow me to receive SMS messages directly from my blog.

Kim, I get the same reaction, which strikes me as totally bizarre because something like 70 million Americans have mobile phones. They’re like… so what’s Mobile Marketing?
This usually works, tell em… “you know when you text your vote to American idol with 20 million other mobile geeks? Well American Idol has a strategic agreement and more than likely pays very very little for that SMS campaign. I’d say $.01 and set the sell price to you the consumer at $.99. Subtract $.01 from $.99 and multiply that by the 20M SMS messages per week over the season and you quickly discover that they’re making extremely large profits per season on their SMS Mobile Marketing Campaigns.”
Heck, I can buy bulk SMS at $.035 + $99 on the keyword so I know someone the size of Fox and American Idol are doing much better.
I just subscribed to Mobile Marketing Profits by Kim Dushinski.

Sorry about this folks. Hopefully, it’s the last of the copyright lingo for the day. Going forward of you’re reading my blog in your aggregator/reader you’ll see a copyright notification at the bottom. I hope you find it unobtrusive. It’s hard for me to make a copyright argument against a splogger though if I don’t copyright my posts.

You can accomplish this yourself with this Angsuman’s Feed Copyrighter wordpress plugin. I’ve also added a Copyright to the bottom of every page in the site. I’m surprised that this isn’t a word press option, I had to hand code that into the template. Am I missing something?

I’m in the process of adding some copyright necessities to my blog this morning. The owners of wirelessarticles.com and I’m not giving them a link have found it necessary to republish parts of my blog on their own blog without my permission. I may post a test or 2 to see of if my copyright notice appears in the RSS feeds.
Meanwhile, I’m starting a DMCA notice to get the owners of this site to cease. From what I can gather they buy domains, scrape content from other blogs and then resell the blog. I’m not stating that’s what they do but that’s how it might appear. At least that’s what has unfolded with my friends at Blog Catalog where we’ve had a very good conversation about this since last night.
If you know a good online legal service that handles this for you please share the attorneys name with me. If your an attorney that doesn’t understand the online space but would like to become an online rock star, let’s talk! I can show you how to make an incredible online business out of this issue and in return you can handle my DMCA notices.

I was just about to call it a day when I noticed that I had an unopened cyberguys email. Cyberguys is a kickbutt computer products supplier who I happen to love so I just had to open the email. Anyhow, it catches my attention not because of the email subject but in the main graphic I see this bit about Mobile Wireless Connection Sharing using a 3G Router!
If you’re a mobile geek then you probably just said “sweet”! This hugger is compatible with all 3G Networks including EV-DO, EDGE and UMTS. It also doubles as a 802.11G(no N though).
Here’s the full feature list:

And here are the compatible 3G network cards:

For $269, I think I’m going to buy one if my wife doesn’t catch me doing it
I just gotta try this thing out and see how well it operates.
Ok, now I’m closing out for the day but before I do just a reminder that on my About Page I have a full disclosure statement regarding the companies that I choose to blog about. I do not get paid to blog about these companies. I do however run AdSense Ads on my blog. That covers my hosting expenses basically. I do expect to be introducing my own “Sponsors Ad Program” very shortly but that’s another post.
I am a huge fan of Cyberguys and this won’t be the last time I mention them but they’re not paying me to talk their stuff up! If you have mobile related stuff and want it covered, just drop me an email or give me a call. My number is on the About Page.
