Air2Web Lives Up To Expectations Across The Board
Posted by michael on May 7, 2008 in Mobile Marketing
I’m always interested to learn more about companies that proclaim to be a “complete mobile marketing agency.” Since many falter in terms of their actual ability to live up to the “complete” aspect without outsourcing certain elements of the mobile marketing to other organizations, I have remained impressed by the good words I continue to hear about Air2Web.
Setting a “vigorous path and pace” to new heights in mobile marketing, Air2Web, a mobile marketing firm that specializes in linking consumers with brands, has announced “major corporate milestones” poised to expand their capabilities and secure a perch atop the mobile marketing heap.
According to the company’s website, so far in 2008, Air2Web has:
- Launched a new Agency Programs practice, the first initiative designed to help marketing agencies with implementing and tracking mobile marketing campaigns for their clients
- Continued to receive third-party validation for its technology innovation and growth, being awarded with the Technology Association of Georgia’s Top 40 Innovators award and Frost & Sullivan’s 2008 North American Mobility award for the second year in a row
- Launched new Mobile Marketing Solution Series, a game-changing approach to how brands and marketers interact with consumers via mobile devices
“Air2Web’s recent achievements have furthered our company’s position as a leader in the mobile marketing industry,” said Bill Jones, president of Air2Web. “We continually center our work on the belief that all marketing starts with a conversation. More than ever, consumers are willing to interact with brands across multiple platforms. Air2Web’s solutions are targeted to easily initiate that conversation via mobile and provide a way for brands and agencies to develop successful campaigns that are relevant to their customers.”
Anyone looking for information on comprehensive mobile marketing campaigns or how to astutely manage a mobile marketing firm would be wise to check out Air2Web online.

Is this just a straight up PR piece? Is there anything to back your claims besides their website and some quotes from the president? This article gives absolutely no relevant information to potential customers — how do you show that this company ‘falter’ to meet claims? All of your evidence is just claims…

I completely agree with KL, this article does not represent the author very well. Not only does this come across as a blatant PR article, but the closing statement:
“Anyone looking for information on comprehensive mobile marketing campaigns or how to astutely manage a mobile marketing firm would be wise to check out Air2Web online.”
Leads the reader to wonder if Micheal was paid by Air2web to submit this piece. Leave the bias reporting to Fox News!

Hi guys,
Sorry for showing an overzealous display of affection for Air2Web. Please know that I wasn’t hired as a billboard for any company. I was genuinely impressed by what I saw and was pleased to have an opportunity to report on a trustworthy company in this new industry already teeming with big talkers.
I will try to tone down my exuberance in the future.
Thanks!
Michael

I have been researching mobile marketing for quite some time now. When I do implement it into my business (maybe I already have) I will not be eager to “shout it from the mountain tops.”
The results of my marketing efforts are confidential, and I don’t my competition to know which strategies are working well for my business and which are not.
“Mobile” is just another piece of the marketing pie. My primary marketing goals are:
1. Create leads
2. Strengthen brand
3. Service customers
And I believe mobile will deliver results in all of these areas.
I have yet to see any real ROI data related to Mobile Marketing. I suspect it is because the companies implementing Mobile Marketing programs simply aren’t releasing that information to back to vendors, analysts, or press. Possibly because they ARE in fact seeing good results and they want to keep this space to themselves as long as possible.
I benefit as a customers from several forms of mobile marketing every week.
1. My Bank - balance information, transfers
2. My Mobile Phone company - minutes, balance
3. Library - alerts me when my books come in
4. School - announcements from my kid’s schools
5. Sports - changes in ball practice schedules
6. Weather - daily weather and alerts
7. Java - Starbucks locator
8. Entertainment - my daughter wants David Archuleta to win. I think David Cook will win
Just because this company Air 2 Web doesn’t have numbers to share, doesn’t mean they don’t have customers who are seeing positive results from Mobile Marketing. In fact, it probably means that their customers ARE seeing good results.
My 2 Cents,
James
