It’s hard to imagine anything rivaling Facebook’s expansive mobile userbase. But that’s a claim InMobi is making today.
The mobile ad network says it now reaches 759 million active monthly mobile users. The only companies with a bigger mobile reach – and not by much – are Facebook and Google.
“Five years ago, a brand that included mobile advertising in its portfolio was ahead of the curve. Today, if you’re not advertising on mobile, you risk losing an entire generation of consumers,” Naveen Tewari, CEO of InMobi, tells the India Times.
“Their only competitors are Google and Facebook, which must mean they are really doing something right,” adds Ravi Gururaj, chairman of the Nasscom Product Council.
As of the latest industry data available, Facebook now reaches approximately 945 million active monthly users. But if InMobi continues to innovate as they have in recent months, the company’s userbase growth trajectory may ultimately outpace that of Facebook’s.
“Above all their technology is superior – at least a couple years ahead of the competition. They are driven by their intellectual property horsepower,” concludes Gururaj.
