Apple Foxconn Reportedly Begin Design Phase of Rumored HDTV 300x180 Apple, Foxconn Reportedly Begin Design Phase of Rumored HDTV2013 could very well bring with it a revolutionary product for the living room – a connected HDTV from Apple that integrates with the full slate of iOS-powered iDevices from the Cupertino, California-based tech giant. As widely rumored, Apple is expected to get into the TV business very soon.

And just “how soon” may have been answered in a new report from Taiwan’s Central News Agency (discovered by Patently Apple). According to details out of the far east today, Foxconn – also known as Hon Hai Precision – has begun working with its longtime partner Apple to perfect designs for the forthcoming Apple HDTV.

Although Hon Hai, the world’s largest contract electronics maker, has declined to respond to the reports, saying that it never comments on specific business deals with any single client., a source inside Hon Hai said that “the initial phase of tests on the television has kicked off.”

Wednesday’s report suggests that the Apple HDTV screen displays range in sizes of 46-55 inches.

The unnamed but purportedly credible source also speculated that “Apple TV shipments could be huge and that new Apple TV-related products might be put on display at the well-known international consumer electronics trade fair, CES, to be held in Las Vegas in January.”
