BlackBerry Q10 Release Postponed in U.S.

BlackBerry Q10 Release Postponed in U.S. 300x199 BlackBerry Q10 Release Postponed in U.S.It’s not a headline the folks at BlackBerry are excited to read, but it’s an undeniable fact nonetheless.

News emerged Wednesday that those eager to get their hands on a new BlackBerry Q10 will have to wait longer for this much-anticipated smartphone.

A lot longer, actually.

In fact, we’re not even sure how long. But there’s a good chance that a lot of prospective new smartphone shoppers won’t still be in the market for a new device once the BlackBerry Q10 actually sees the light of day.

While we’ve been told to expect the new BlackBerry Z10 at some point in March here in the U.S., the BlackBerry Q10 may have its release pushed all the way back to early summer.

The reason for the delay? Carrier testing.

“We need to respect that. Am I a bit disappointed? Yeah, I would be lying saying no. But it is what it is, and we’re working with all our carrier partners to speed it up as much as we can,” BlackBerry CEO Thorsten Heins told the Associated Press.

So will BlackBerry bounce back from the delay? As long as the iPhone 6, HTC M7, and Samsung Galaxy S IV don’t have a shot at debuting first and stealing the show, BlackBerry may be able to retain prospective buyer interest.

But the interest will certainly fade if the delays worsen any further.
