Premium cable television giant HBO is on brag-watch. The iconic name in home entertainment says its recently released HBO Go app has reached three million downloads.
HBO Go enables HBO subscribers to view more than 1,400 programs on demand via their Apple iPad tablets, iPhones, and Android devices, assuming their cable providers support the app.
HBO Go saw 1 million downloads in its first week of availability alone.

On Monday, Netflix announced the latest partnership between the juggernaut Internet subscription service and a major Hollywood player.
Netflix and Miramax, the prominent film and television studio with a library of more than 700 motion pictures, is unveiling a multi-year agreement under which Netflix members in the US will be able to instantly watch some of the hottest films in the expansive Miramax film library.
The deal, about which financial terms were not made public, marks the first time Miramax titles have become available through a digital subscription service.

This week, Motorola Mobility announced that the company has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Dreampark, a IPTV software provider based out of Sweden. Terms of the deal were not disclosed regarding the proposal, which is expected to close during the second quarter of this year.
Why Dreampark? Motorola Mobility is clearly interested in the company’s leading software product dubbed Dreamgallery, a middleware solution that enables operators to deliver services via television networks. When the deal closes, Motorola will begin the process of integrating Dreamgallery into the Motorola Medios software suite.
In short, the acquisition of Dreampark and its impressive slate of products will complement Motorola Mobility’s mobile device and home experience while “broadening its reach across multiple screens.”
