Facebook has whipped up unprecedented interest in a Wall Street IPO.
As the world’s top social network gets ready for its big debut, the company has continued to tackle tough questions regarding if and how Facebook will successfully monetize mobile in the future.
“In March 2012,” Facebook stated in its amended prospectus this week, “we began to include sponsored stories in users’ mobile News Feeds. However, we do not currently directly generate any meaningful revenue from the use of Facebook mobile products, and our ability to do so successfully is unproven.”

And the fight goes on.
On Thursday, reports surfaced that Proview – a Chinese company that has battled Apple for the rights to use the iPad name – failed to reach a settlement agreement with the Cupertino, California-based iPhone maker.
China’s Beijing Times says that Apple offered Proview a settlement deal worth 100 million yuan, or $16 million dollars.

This morning, Digitimes reported out of Asia that Apple’s sixth generation iPhone will be unveiled in September.

Today, only half of all iPads sold are those with a corresponding radio that now only lends users a new connectivity option, but also requires more cash up front for the hardware.
But in a new interview with Macworld, Glenn Lurie – president of emerging devices at AT&T – says that cell radios should – and probably will – soon be standard features on a tablet that won’t require users to pay more up front.

This week, Groupon CEO Andrew Mason published a letter to investors, outlining both Groupon’s charted course of expansion, and also its huge backing from the mobile community.
