Online advertising network Chitika has just released its latest Chitika Insights usage share data report for tablets.
The report, which covers the March 2013 period, shows an acceleration of the already well-established trend of increasing tablet usage among residents in the U.S. and Canada.
With tablet user engagement reaching all time highs, mobile marketers are taking this latest report as a clear affirmation of their focus on tablets as a key channel for reaching customers and consumers of all variety.
Based on data gleaned from the Chitika Ad Network, the iPad still overwhelmingly dominates web traffic on tablets, at 81.9%.
“The mobile marketplace continues to grow as tablets become increasingly popular for their functionality, convenience, and portability,” Chitika says. “With warmer weather on the way, it is likely that some consumers will be abandoning their desktops for casual Web surfing in favor of tablets which can be taken outdoors and on the go.”
