Either the price of coffee has spiked suddenly or a meeting with the Chief Executive Officer of Apple is really, really this valuable.
Earlier this week, MMW reported that CharityBuzz, a web-based company that raises funds for nonprofit organizations through online charity auctions that regularly involve high-profile celebrities, placed a unique opportunity up for auction.
The opportunity in question would give the top bidder a rare chance to meet for coffee with Apple CEO Tim Cook.
With proceeds benefiting The RFK Center for Justice and Human Rights, the meeting was projected to have estimated value of $50,000. But as of Wednesday, the highest bid was just $14,000.
By Friday morning, however, circumstances changed dramatically.
After 78 bids, Clearcrate.com now the leading bidder offering a staggering $560,000 for the meeting with Tim Cook.
A record-breaking auction by all means for CharityBuzz, Tim Cook helped to shatter the previous bidding record for the online auction platform, which was just $40,000 for a meeting with former President Bill Clinton.
Bidding on the meeting with Tim Cook will remain open through May 14th.
