GreedyGiver.com has emerged as Canada’s first fundraising site that uses promotions from “socially responsible brands” to encourage customers to donate to worthy causes.
Reminiscent of the classic line from 1987′s “Wall Street,” in which Michael Douglas proclaimed that “greed is good,” Greedy is providing to be great for philanthropy.
It’s philanthropy served up in a way that is familiar, quick and simple. Consumers browse the active promotions, donate the required amount to the cause of their choice, and print the coupon to redeem in-store or online. It’s e-fundraising made easy!
“GreedyGiver is built on a win / win / win model,” says Sabrina Nicosia, Director of Marketing for .com “Brands & local merchants win because they build their business & increase revenue while generating goodwill. Charities win because they attract new donors and increase donations without any capital outlay. And consumers win because they save money and support causes that matter to them.”
“We are in the process of adding a crowdfunding component to the site. It’s like Indiegogo or Kickstarter but we provides the perks! People upload their fundraising initiatives to GreedyGiver.com and use our deals as a way to entice donors. People are really loving the concept,” continues Nicosia, “We’re essentially rewarding people for their philanthropy with amazing savings and deals from caring merchants. This new format opens up the world of giving to people that don’t tend to donate. It also encourages people to give more often – not just during the holidays or tax season.”
