Today more than ever it’s apparent to those who have attended or covered the annual South-by-Southwest convention that the annual pilgrimage to Austin, Texas results in a bigger and more exciting experience with each passing year.
First launched in 1987, SXSW is a set of film, interactive, and music festivals and conferences that take place every spring (usually in March). In 2014, however, a new section was introduced to SXSW Film: “Episodic,” which covers television programming.
Ahead of this year’s SXSW, a visual retrospective of SXSW’s rich history was produced by Active8social. The infographic shared below highlights the tremendous growth enjoyed by the convention and its organizers over the last 27 years.
