It’s the hottest rumor in mobile tech today: the new Apple iPhone 5S will be unveiled June 20th and begin shipping in early July.
Consistent with the early days of early-summer iPhone launches, Apple’s 5S model is now poised to be released to the global marketplace just eight months after the iPhone 5 debuted.
For Apple, the launch can’t possibly come fast enough, particularly as Samsung’s Galaxy S4 smartphone continues to draw hype and threaten the iPhone’s momentum.
Although MacFan, a Japanese Apple fanzine, was first to report the rumored June 20th release date for the iPhone 5S, several leading Wall Street analysts believe the purported launch timeframe is consistent with the information they have received from knowledgeable sources in the Asian supply chain.
Today’s report did not include any speculation with regard to new iPhone 5S features.
