With more than 3 million Company Pages on LinkedIn today, the timing is finally right for the top social network for professionals to roll out Sponsored Updates.
Following the lead of the rest of the social media world, the business networking giant says Sponsored Updates are ideal for getting your LinkedIn posts and announcements into the news feeds of individuals who don’t yet follow you.
“Marketers can target Sponsored Updates to any segment of our premium audience based on professional profile data across more than 225 million members,” LinkedIn’s David Hahn explains.
As of today, Sponsored Updates will be available to customers with an account representative, and we will begin making it available to any company with a LinkedIn Company Page by the end of this month.
In the formal announcement, however, LinkedIn made certain to reassure its loyal users that their news feeds won’t suddenly be inundated with ads.
Non-disruptive “measured and methodical” ads will “strike the right balance for our members and companies,” the company promises.
