MoFuse Just Added An SMS Widget

If you couldn’t already tell, I really like MoFuse. I cut my mobile version of this blog over to MoFuse 14 days ago and I’ve been really pleased with the service. I really didn’t have a handle on how many of you read my blog on your mobile handsets. I gotta keep that in mind because I like to use pictures in my blog posts. Note to self, “make sure the images aren’t humongous or your mobile reader friends who aren’t on all you can eat plans are gonna get dinged on their data plans“.

Mobile Marketing Watch MoFuse StatsI got an email tonight from David Berube, David is the founder and CEO of MoFuse and I’ve found him and his organization to be open to suggestions. A few days ago I sent him a note letting him know that it would be nice to be able to have the ability to determine the number of Mobile Visitors in addition to Mobile Page Views. Realizing that they’re in Beta, I didn’t expect them to jump on it but this evening look what I found in my Dashboard! That’s really nice because I’m essentially routing my mobile users to a different web site and so I need to know that I can collect statistics and roll them back into my own reports in addition to tracking my mobile stuff separately.

MoFuse SMS WidgetDavid though, emailed me for a different reason, he wanted me to check out their new SMS Widget, I’ve got it loaded to the right of this post on my site. From a mobile marketing perspective this is brilliant! Wanna know why? MoFuse is doing something that mobileStorm talks about all the time. They’re building their mobile marketing database by giving out this widget and getting folks to sign up for mobile blog delivery. Too, they’re helping me promote my mobile web site. Pretty cool idea huh? Hey David, are we gonna get stats on how many folks actually sign up through the widget?

Oh, and David hooked me up with 50 more MoFuse invites, so mobilize your blog, it only takes 5 minutes and it’s painless.

Victor, good post. I’d love one of those invites if you have more left. I have a couple of blogs that might benefit from it.

And it’s a smart strategy to use widgets, but all the more impressive when someone actually gets users to download the widget in a marketplace crowded with them.

I love this. Its really a step in the right direction towards marrying the functionality of the internet with the realities of mobile. I, for one, have been looking for a way to allow readers of our blogs a way to opt into receiving a mobile version of our blog, without having to deal the unbearably long process of loading web pages on a cell phone. Even with the best service (and an iPhone), you’re still reading a web page on a small window.

If you wouldn’t mind, I’d appreciate one of those invites as well. I went to the website and they are “invitation only”, but I joined their mailing list anyway. I currently publish two blogs, and would like to offer this to my readers.

    Thanks for a great article.
