Pinterest has just pinned another major investment round, the latest worth a reported $200 million.
Led by Valiant Capital Management, the infusion of cash has spiked the company’s total valuation to $2.5 billion.
AllThingsD first reported the investment but it has since been confirmed by Pinterest.
“Our focus is on helping millions of people discover things they love and get inspiration to go do those things in their life,” says Ben Silbermann, Pinterest co-founder and CEO. “This investment gives us more resources to help realize that vision.”
Pinterest’s last major funding effort took place in May of 2012, when the social network raised $100 million.
Like before, Pinterest says it plans to direct the funding toward ongoing efforts to grow and expand its service while hiring more employees, and improving its infrastructure.
