According to the MMA, this new edition covers a broad range of topics including the unique Indian perspective on mobile marketing, whether Pakistan can build a mobile marketing channel, mobile payments, mobile social media, and why the US Government cares about location based marketing.

On Wednesday, The Mobile Marketing Association (MMA) raised the curtain on its finalized MMA Mobile Application Privacy Policy, which is being hailed as the first guidelines document of its kind that addresses the core privacy issues and data processes of many mobile applications.
As MMW previously reported, the MMA Mobile Application Privacy Policy was created by the MMA Privacy & Advocacy Committee in response to the rapid growth in mobile app popularity among smartphone users and mobile marketers.

On Wednesday, The Mobile Marketing Association (MMA) released the MMA Universal Mobile Ad Package v.2.0 for public comment.
Effective as of this writing, the full marketplace has a thirty-day window to review the new standards and offer feedback. After comments are incorporated, all ad networks and publishers will have until the end of the first quarter of 2012 to become fully compliant.
At that time, the MMA will promote compliant companies by issuing MMA Universal Mobile Ad Package Compliance stamps for member use on web sites and marketing materials.

Hoping to help marketers unlock the potential of marketing with mobile barcodes, the Mobile Marketing Association (MMA) on Thursday published a new white paper titled “Mobile Barcodes: an Overview for Marketers.”
The MMA says that the white paper explains in a concise, easy to understand fashion how marketers can leverage mobile barcodes to give their customers access to information, multi-media content, promotional opportunities, retail store locations, discounts and coupons, samples, and more.
And the timing of the white paper’s release couldn’t be more opportune.

In a press release issued today by the Mobile Marketing Association (MMA), the finalists for this year’s Mobile Marketing Awards for Innovation, Creativity and Leadership were announced — spanning categories including branding, cross media integration, direct response and more.
The MMA Global Award Winners are currently being reviewed and judged by an “all-star panel of international marketers and agency leaders.” The winners will be recognized for excellence at the MMA Awards Gala in Los Angeles on November 17, 2011, which culminates the MMA Forum Los Angeles.

The Mobile Marketing Association (MMA) today announced new privacy policy guidelines aimed at governing mobile applications, which are now open to public comment.
The new privacy policy marks the first of its kind to address the “core privacy issues and data processes of many mobile applications,” according to the MMA. “These new privacy policy guidelines fill an urgent need for all companies doing business in the mobile marketing industry. The guidelines are intended to provide ways to give the mobile application developer a clear and transparent policy language that can be quickly and completely understood by the consumer,” said MMA Global CEO Greg Stuart. “Today’s release is the first in series of privacy policy guidelines that the MMA will create with the input of industry leaders across the mobile ecosystem.”
