According to “the other Steve,” the reason we haven’t yet detected Cook’s penchant for innovation is because Cook – like Jobs – prefers to operate below radar.

Launched in 2007, AllThingsD has emerged as a well-respected titan in the modern tech news space and the venerable brand behind an annual conference hosted by Walt Mossberg and Kara Swisher that has welcomed everyone from Steve Jobs to Bill Gates.

Dow Jones & Co. won’t renew its partnership with technology news website AllThingsD and said longtime Wall Street Journal technology columnist Walter S. Mossberg will leave the paper at the end of the year.

The rumor mill, which hasn’t been kind to Steve Jobs’ successor this year, suggests that Apple’s board is continuing to apply pressure on Cook to innovate at a more aggressive pace as investors nervously await something shiny and new from Apple.

The latest rumor in question comes from the author of a controversial new book MMW first covered earlier this week.

Ian Fineman, author of Tim Cook: The Core of Apple’s Problem, suggests that Eddy Cue, one of Apple’s senior vice presidents, is the “logical replacement” of Cook should the board choose to dump Cook.

The ebook exclusive from Electronic Tech Press promises a “compelling, first-of-its-kind look behind the scenes of Apple” and questions the leadership of CEO Tim Cook in the post-Steve Jobs era.

Exploring the “rapid decline of one of America’s greatest success stories,” the book seems to place ample blame on Tim Cook as the core of Apple’s problem.

From the looks of it, fans of the Batman franchise are outraged that Ben Affleck has been cast as the new Batman. With their beloved Bale seemingly gone forever at the caped crusader, concerns are mounting that Affleck will do to the Batman franchise what George Clooney almost did – kill it.

Steve Jobs Schools Open in The Netherlands 300x140 Steve Jobs Schools Open in The NetherlandsEarlier this spring, educators in the Netherlands made global headlines with their plan to develop a number of so-called “Steve Jobs schools.”

Students of each school are not given pens, paper, notebooks, books, or any of the typical school supplies.

Each student, however, is equipped with an iPad.

The children will learn through a designated app on their iPad “which will be turned into a sort of interactive, multimedia schoolbook — whenever they want.”
