As mHealthWatch is reporting, Apple is said to have allegedly poached top design talent from Nike in recent weeks.
Against a backdrop of speculation that Apple is profoundly interested in wearable technology, news surfaced Friday that Apple has hired one of the top design stars at Nike.
Ben Shaffer – Nike’s studio director for the company’s “Innovation Kitchen” – is now an Apple employee, sources confessed ahead of the weekend
“Under Shaffer, a Nike employee since 2011, the Innovation Kitchen brought forth the successful Fuelband fitness tracker as well as an unusual, lightweight running shoe called the Flynit,” says Nathan Ingraham of The Verge. “Under his leadership, Nike was recently named the most innovative company of 2013 by Fast Company.”
Shaffer is widely credited for helping Nike achieve its recent designation as the “most innovative company of 2013″ by Fast Company.
For now, Apple and Nike are silent on the talent shuffle but sources confirm that Shaffer is definitely no longer employed by Nike.
